Letters from Israel

After a beautiful Shabbat in Jerusalem it is time for the TBS Israel Mission to head home.  One of the highlights of Shabbat was davening with our Sister Synagogue Kehillat Ma’ayanot.  They are so grateful for all of the support we have given them to help those in need and especially for the gift cards for meals that went to the many families who have someone serving in the IDF.  The home hospitality for lunch was such a special experience for all of our participants.  We can’t wait to share more about it at TBS next Shabbat and in other moments as well. 

We ended Shabbat with Havdallah overlooking Jerusalem and then had a final meal (as if we needed another one) at a Jerusalem restaurant. 

It is hard to express how meaningful this trip was for us and for all of the people we encountered.  In times of crisis families need each other and right now, as we heard over and over again, the people of Israel need us. And the truth is that we need them.  We are one people with one shared destiny, and together we will prevail. Am Yisrael Hai!
