Executive Director

My report to our Board of Directors this week included updates on information technology, funds development, building improvements, and staff development, to name a few. Below are excerpts of my monthly Board Report:

• Our Controller, Michael Bush, and I have monthly budget meetings with department heads to review the year-to-date budget vs. actual. These meetings now include thought and planning for the FY26 budget as we project income and expenses for next year. 
• In my Board Report last month, I mentioned that the revenue and expenses for the Solomonov/Cook event were still being calculated, and I can now report that we netted 19k on the evening. 
• I am waiting on quotes from two contractors about enhancing various areas of the building to be more accessible for those with mobility issues, including the installation of additional railings on the bima and additional grab bars for the restrooms. 
• Several office staff members and I are attending a ShulCloud learning lab in PA next month to learn additional features in ShulCloud and to get answers to our questions and demonstrations. 
• Staff reviews are happening in the coming weeks, and healthcare open enrollment for staff and faculty is underway. 
• Working with OmniComp, our I.T services provider, on replacing our current network server, which is 17 years old and no longer supported, places us in a vulnerable position to be a target for malware and phishing. The recommendation is to move to a cloud-based network server. This change will help keep our network more secure in addition to other benefits, including guaranteed up time, and we do not have to worry about a server in our physical space.
