In-Person/Livestream: Shabbat Services with Refugee Shabbat
Saturday, February 10, 2024 • 1 Adar I 5784
9:30 AMSponsored and Organized by the TBS Social Advocacy Committee
Join us at our Congregational Shabbat Morning Service. We will mark Refugee Shabbat by learning about honoring the work of HIAS and understanding the refugee crisis in our world. But this year’s Refugee Shabbat will also be a bit different. During the Torah Discussion we will hear about the incredible work that Kellman Brown Academy has done since October 7th welcoming in 10 displaced Israeli families (20 students) to KBA. While these families are not refugees, they were temporarily displaced from their homes on October 7th and were seeking safety, refuge, and community. KBA provided just that. Join us as the leadership of KBA as well as KBA families and a displaced Israeli family all share their stories of how KBA stepped up and helped.
The conversation will continue following kiddush with a Q&A in the Rose Chapel Jenofsky Beit Midrash (also livestreamed). Timing for the the Q&A will be announced at the end of the Shabbat morning service.
